Developing young talented Kenyan cyclists. Producing world class professional athletes.

From David Kinjah’s Safari Simbaz Cycling Team comes a new project catering for talented riders at the Under 23 level.

Safari Simbaz Under 23 Development Team

Based in Nairobi, Kenya SimbazU23 identifies the most talented, ambitious and committed riders from the DHL/Safari Simbaz Junior Team, and the wider cycling community, and offers them enhanced support.

Riders on the programme benefit from access to equipment, coaching and the work of the management team to secure them opportunities at the ‘next level’.

The project is focused on road racing, but its riders compete in both road and MTB races in Kenya, and are aiming to compete across the African continent in search of a higher level of competition and greater experience.

The programme aims to grow to support more riders, develop partnerships with cycling teams and institutions around the world, and reach its goal of seeing a Kenyan rider race at UCI Pro Continental level in the near future.

For 2015 the programme is funded by the Chandaria Foundation and private donations. The riders are fuelled by Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN) Kenya, and ride road bikes provided by Evans Cycles UK.
